Ekopark Corporate Center, developed by EKRON and designed by Design 3 International PLLC, is strategically located at the entrance of the Metropolitan District of Quito and is the result of an alliance between private companies and the public sector with the aim of creating a unique project, modern and innovative, to promote development and foreign investment in the country. The different elements and spaces of the project contribute to a dynamic and safe environment, promoting innovation and collaboration.
Ekopark’s architectural and urban planning proposal managed to transform a vacant lot, which caused security problems for the neighborhoods, into an axis of inclusive, modern, participatory, and safe development. The project has five mixed-use towers (commercial and corporate), linked together by a large open plaza, gardens, wide sidewalks, cycle paths, and wooded areas for the enjoyment, recreation, and interaction of both clients and staff of the different companies. as well as the public.
The five corporate buildings are organized around a green axis that connects all the ground floors. The heart of the project is a 1,000-square-meter Japanese garden, an oasis of peace and tranquility. This garden has water mirrors, comfortable outdoor furniture, and areas for contemplation and relaxation. In the landscape proposal, native plants were used to enhance the habitat of the place and become a home for the area’s fauna.
Environmental sustainability was an integral part of the design and construction of the project. The focus was user comfort, reduction of energy and water consumption, cross ventilation, accessibility to green spaces, and natural lighting. These efforts led to Building #5 being certified under LEED Silver certification, demonstrating the project’s environmental commitment.
